German tech giant Siemens AG intends to invest $510 million in the construction of new production facilities in the United States, including the construction of a plant for the production of electrical equipment in Texas. The investments are intended to develop the data center sector, as well as organize the production of semiconductors and batteries. In total, the plan provides for the creation of 1.7 thousand jobs. They intend to spend $150 million of the total budget on the Texas plant in Fort Worth, producing equipment for power supply of industrial facilities and data centers. Additionally, the company is investing in two plants for the production of electrical products in Texas and California. Finally, another $220 million was allocated to create production in the railway sector in North Carolina. The trigger for additional investments in US industry was the boom in demand for infrastructure solutions related to AI systems and the adoption of significant incentive measures in the US to lure tech giants from around the world. The main purpose of the investment is to support the data center industry, including large language model (LLM) sites. Siemens has allocated funds for business development in the United States as part of a larger plan to expand high-tech production around the world. The company will spend the most money at home in Germany, with €1 billion allocated to expand production and a campus in Bavaria.
