Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III: Three first completely new maps in Season 1

You can definitely tell that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was initially planned as a large DLC. After all, there are only well-known, returning multiplayer maps – but that's about to change in the first season.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will certainly be a commercial success again, but the new shooter from Activision Blizzard and Sledgehammer Games also had to put up with criticism and is considered the worst-rated part of the shooter series ever. After all, a lot of the content is well-known, which is because the classic multiplayer part has so far only offered maps from the earlier Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. New arrivals? Nothing reported so far! But that should now change!

In a blog entry, the developers have now confirmed that three completely new maps will be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III with Season 1. This should all be dedicated to the classic 6v6 multiplayer. Two maps should be available at the start of the new season, with the third map following around the middle of the season.

“Meat” is a new map and is described as quite compact. In the center of this map you will find the East Bay Meats slaughterhouse. “Greece” as the second new map will be medium in size and is located in a coastal town with a Mediterranean setting.

The final third map is called “Rio” and then starts with Season 1 Reloaded. This map will feature bright colors as well as close battles in a mall.

The Gunfight mode will also return with its own 2v2 maps, where you can expect some favorites from earlier days, as well as a training map. And: Season 1 also marks the start of the revised Warzone with the new Uzrikstan map. Last but not least, the start of the season is rounded off by a big update for the Zombies mode, which introduces Dark Aether Rifts.

As of today, multiplayer finally starts in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III; the shooter is now officially available.
