Foxconn launched its first two satellites into low orbit

Last Saturday, SpaceX's latest space mission launched into low-Earth orbit the first two Foxconn satellites, developed for the company's needs and third-party clients, including government agencies. Satellite production is part of Foxconn's diversification strategy. In 2019, Foxconn's chairman outlined plans to diversify into electric vehicles, medical equipment, robotics, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and communications satellites. The move is crucial for Foxconn as its smartphone market share declines. The satellites, created with Taiwanese scientists, weigh about 9 kg and operate at an altitude of 520 km, making one revolution around the Earth in 96 minutes.
