In the summer, Huawei introduced HarmonyOS Next to developers as the future OS for all its devices. According to Richard Yu, HarmonyOS Next is almost ready for release to end users and all built-in apps have been updated.

However, HarmonyOS Next has one serious omission related to Android apk support. Huawei's new operating system will not be able to install Android apps or read Android code. It appears that while HarmonyOS Next is visually identical to the current version of HarmonyOS, Huawei has dropped support for Android libraries.

Apparently, Huawei has become more serious about its own OS. According to sources of the Zhilian Recruitment platform, companies are busy recruiting specialists for the development of HarmonyOS. Key positions include software development, mobile device development and software testing in the areas of internet, computer software and telecommunications/value-added services.

More than 75% of positions require a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience and offer above-average salaries.
