The author of Guardians of the Galaxy and head of DC Studios James Gunn confirmed the release date of his next film, Superman: Legacy, which will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.

"Thanks to the efforts of our talented team, who never lost faith during the longest shutdowns in Hollywood history, Superman: Legacy will be released on its originally scheduled date of July 11, 2025," Gunn wrote.

"Legacy" will describe the formation of Superman/Clark Kent. The film will be helmed by David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The supporting cast includes Nathan Fillion, Isabella Merced, and Anthony Carrigan.

Gunn also wrote the script for the film. It is unknown whether the film will appear in Russia – previously the studio Warner Bros. completely stopped working in the country.
