Actor and musician Jared Leto climbed to the top of the Empire State Building, promoting the tour of his band Thirty Seconds to Mars. Leto became the first person to legally climb to the top of a skyscraper, securing special permission for the feat. Using insurance, he ascended from the 86th to the 104th floor, taking about 20 minutes. Leto admitted that the climb was more challenging than expected. This isn't his first building climb; previously, he scaled the Berlin Hotel De Rome without insurance, though to a much lower height.
